About our organic eggs

Organic eggs, for the very best welfare and flavour. Soil Association-approved organic farming guarantees the highest animal welfare standard of any farming certification; our happy hens live truly free-range in small, carefully tended flocks, with easy, continuous access to the outdoors – and more space per bird, inside and out. They roam in clean pasture, pecking at the clover and eating a 100% organic diet. They even enjoy some of our graded out organic veg! We're proud to say that Ethical Consumer magazine have rated Riverford's eggs the #1 most ethical eggs you can buy.

To prevent waste, we don't discriminate about size – so your punnet will contain a variety of fresh eggs for you to enjoy. All have a fantastically rich natural flavour.

Tree-range hens: The best habitat for hens

Did you know that chickens are traditionally forest animals, native to the jungles of Southeast Asia? But the environment that most farmed birds live in today is so far removed from anything remotely similar.

But what if we could raise hens in an environment that mimicked a forest? Well Riverford egg farmer, Jerry Saunders, is doing just that. We paid him a visit to find out more.
