The Gent Family

Mosshayne Farm, located just outside Exeter, Devon, has been cared for by the Gent family for since 1895. Known for its commitment to sustainable agriculture, the farm transitioned to organic status in 1999. The Gents produce organic eggs from their flock of chickens and organic vegetables, including a variety of cabbages, leeks and romanesco.

In February 2019, Henry Gent, a Green Party councillor, and his family planted 2,200 native trees at Mosshayne Farm. This initiative, supported by the Woodland Trust's MOREWoods scheme, aims to enhance biodiversity and improve the ecological health of the Clyst Valley.
